It amazes me how efficient I become during a baseball playoff race. My entire nightly schedule has to change so that by the time the first pitch is thrown at 7:05, I'm in my apartment, in front of the TV, with dinner already cooking. Sure, that doesn't sound very difficult, but it's everything before that point that I must cram into the hour and 55 minutes of free time that I have after work, before the start of the Phillies game. This includes a trip to grocery store, workout at the gym (which is 20 minutes away, mind you), and a shower. It's imperative that I take my shower before the game begins, because otherwise I'd have to wait the full three hours covered in dried sweat. Commercial breaks just aren't long enough. |
